As a Naval Architect you will be primarily responsible for
performing and/or managing the naval architecture, marine, and riser
interface activities for floating production facilities from conceptual
design through to installation.

- Engage with Shell project discipline lead engineers in hull, major topsides structural, appurtenances, materials, HSE/HFE, and quality to ensure that that the global response, riser, and stationkeeping components of the design are compatible and integrated with the overall system design and is endorsed by the respective discipline leads
- Accountable for stationkeeping work, offshore installation, and construction support
- Accountable for global design of floaters and interfaces with risers
- Ensure that the engineering work is completed and verified in accordance with the project quality procedures
- Contribute to the development of the procurement and construction contracts
- Accountable as a team member for the effective performance of a core group of mostly in-house structural designers and naval architects
- Understand regulatory, legislative, and local content constraints affecting the systems engineering, procurement, and fabrication and implement appropriate solutions
- Accountable for stationkeeping issues on MODU’s as part of our mandated rig assurance program with STASCO
Requirements:
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in Civil Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Ocean Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant offshore engineering experience
- Must have excellent working experience of TLP’s and SEMI’s, especially global motions
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards including API RP's
- 5% travel to onshore and offshore sites as needed
