Job description
If you are a technology sales professional, then you will not be surprised that executive after executive is concerned about their organization’s need to process the explosion of incoming data in order to remain competitive in their markets. What we’ve learned is most believe the resulting investment in required storage, compute and software has placed them squarely between the proverbial rock and a hard place.

In IBM’s 2013 Annual report, Ginni Rometty says, “A new wave of computing is sweeping in – powered by Big Data, Analytics, and Cloud. Every two days, as much data is now generated as in all of human history up to 2003.” This convergence of compute and data is driving an unceasing demand for solutions able to take advantage of the shift to high performance applications - across software, infrastructure, and services to solve these challenges.

Last year IBM acquired Platform Computing - a software brand providing workload and resource management middleware - and to a degree, all three of these growth initiatives are powered by Platform. So for customers trying to move their business to the Cloud and interested in making critical business decisions using their “Big Data” – Platform Computing is an enabling technology to help make that happen faster. And in the future, as the world moves towards "Software Defined Environments", Platform is at the core of IBM’s solution as highlighted during IBM's 2013 Investor Day materials.

Platform’s solutions fuel product development, critical business decisions and breakthrough science in financial services, manufacturing, digital media, oil and gas, life sciences, government, research and education. More than 2,500 clients—including 23 of the top 30 largest global enterprises—already use Platform Computing.

IBM Platform Computing brings leading cluster, grid and high performance computing (HPC) cloud management software to the IBM Technical Computing portfolio. These offerings accelerate time-to-results for compute and data-intensive applications running on distributed technical and analytics computing environments for workloads as diverse as real-time analytics, business simulations, product design analysis and risk management— applications that exemplify the Smarter Computing era.

This is an opportunity for select individuals to be a part of our growing Brand Sales Team! We are looking for an individual to add to our team of Brand Sales Specialists in Texas and Heartland States. The individual will be responsible for direct and channel based sales of IBM Platform’s industry leading LSF, Symphony, and GPFS product suites.

The ideal candidate will be able to articulate the business value of our solutions and position them in competitive scenarios. Applicants should have a technical background with 5+ years selling experience.
