This individual will be responsible for processing samples related to clinical research projects and the evaluation and validation of new equipment. In addition, this position works in close collaboration with the GE Healthcare
Technologies team, research sites, and clinical partners to, among other things, develop new product applications.
• Supervisory duties include coordinate and supervise employees, oversees training of staff, conducts supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, performance review, addressing complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with the Senior Director and Human Resources
•Combine knowledge of chemistry/radiochemistry/physics/biology to deliver new products
•Evaluate and extend new concepts as well as provide innovations which can be developed into new product
advantages
•Use broad expertise in chemistry/radiochemistry/physics/biology to help resolve urgent issues with current products
•New antibody and/or procedure development and validation:
•Tests new antibodies and new procedures for IHC using IHC SOP’s.
•Process and cut normal and tumor tissues obtained for validations and research projects.
•Develops tissue micro arrays to be used for validations and research projects.
•Prepares reagents, antibodies and materials for testing when appropriate.
•Uses approved forms and documents to record all testing activities following GCP standards.
•Maintains files of documents and references following CAP and GCP standards.
•Maintains updated spreadsheets of new or changes to protocols for lab personnel.
•Troubleshoots antibodies and staining procedures as needed.
•Researches and orders cell lines for quality control testing as needed for research projects.
•Coordinates efforts of cell line production with our tissue culture laboratory.
•Support clinical research projects
•Process samples related to clinical research projects
•Provide technical support as needed
•Other duties may include sample management, reporting and client services support
•New equipment evaluations and validations:
•Tests new equipment using manufacturer’s guidelines.
•Validates and documents all activities and selected equipment.
•Assists with training IHC personnel on approved and validated equipment.
•Other duties as assigned by manager
  • Bachelors Degree in a Life Science, laboratory medicine or related preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive histology and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) required
  • 2+ years supervisory experience and/or leading a team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must have a solid understanding of Histology and IHC principles
  • Familiar with CAP and GCP standards.
  • Familiar with automated IHC staining instrumentation.
  • Good working knowledge of micro-anatomy and familiar with staining characteristics of most antibodies currently in use
  • You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
  • You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
