Job description
Corporate Storage Solutions Architects are technical consultants to clients, IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. A Corporate SA is responsible to provide a deeper level of presales and consulting skills over the general technical community. They understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape. They provide technical sales support which may include:

  • Collaborating with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions
  • Deliver Proof of Concept
  • Develop and deliver technical education;
  • Support critical situations; design solutions; and answer technical questions.

    When engaged for a specific opportunity or project, they are responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution. The successful candidate will support sales of storage products -especially FLASH storage products- to accounts within a particular territory or set of accounts. They also provide World Wide presales guidance and support.

    The Corporate SA is responsible for supporting our brand sales team. The technical aspects of a sale are the responsibility of the SA. The SA has to understand client requirements and match those with IBM products to meet those requirements. The SA is responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution, develops partnerships with multiple levels and types of personnel in customer organizations, supports accounts through the sales process to achieve successful delivery of solution and closure of sales and provides feedback to marketing and development.
  • Required
    • At least 3 years experience in Storage Architecture, Design and Implementation
    • At least 3 years experience in Storage Systems Technical Sales
    • At least 5 years experience in In depth Storage Performance Practices: Tuning, Troubleshooting, Design and Architecture
    • At least 3 years experience in  Storage Market and Competitive Solutions
    • At least 3 years experience in Flash and SSD storage, usage and positioning
    • At least 3 years experience in generating customer-facing or internal collateral, documentation and best practices
    • At least 5 years experience in utilizing presentation skills for deep technical audiences or C-level decision makers
    • At least 5 years experience in running or self-managing own projects, beginning to end without supervision
    • Readiness to travel 50% travel annually
    • English: Fluent
    Additional information
    Prefer candidates with at least 7 years Expertise/SME on at least one of the following topics:
  • Operating System Expertise: AIX, Linux or Windows Platform
  • RDBMS: Oracle, DB2 or SQL
  • Virtualization: VMware, Citrix, etc.
  • Applications and Solutions for: SAS, SAP, Core Banking, HPC, Big Data, Cloud Computing
