Job description
Position is for an Advisory Software Engineer with extensive I/T experience in working with design, development, test and production environments of our multi-architectural production platforms and datamart systems. This is a complex environment comprised of custom leading edge architectures, responsible for custom new development and production operations to a high level of efficiency and accuracy. Must thoroughly understand development processes, tools, standards, and build to achieve all auditability and accuracy requirements. The Advisory Software Engineer must be able to customize and deliver expert level SAP MM, SD and ABAP skills along with DB2 software engineering to achieve BCRS SCMS Integrated Application, business unit and functional process information systems for management and staff decision making. Must be able to size the work effort (development and unit test durations) for each work item; determining skill and resources needed for the work with the Development Project Manager, and delegating to the developer and assigning to a Life Cycle Release (LCR). The Advisory Software Engineer validates solutions (tests and demonstrates new functions to users and/or have users have hands-on validation) with End Users before content is committed to the business. This role investigates possible solutions and fixes production support issues after it goes through Level 1 and 2 support. Must be able to perform Regression Tests in Development System and demonstrate new function in current release (approved during End/User Validation) at "Exchange" meeting. Must have strong system level integration management and operational skills, and be able to assist in designing and developing prototypes and PoC's.
Required
  • At least 3 years experience in BCRS business processes and systems/application architectures
  • At least 3 years experience in technical working knowledge of SAP MM and SD modules along with ABAP knowledge, DB/2 and query toolsets, Data transfers, MQSeries and Java
  • At least 3 years experience in documenting and maintaining functional specifications
  • At least 3 years experience in general project management and strong task management skills plus the ability to work in close cooperative cross application team environment
  • Readiness to travel 10% travel annually
  • English: Fluent
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 5 years experience in BCRS business processes and systems/application architectures
