The incumbent is ultimately accountable for Commercial and Operational activities in the sphere of Road Transport, with an understanding of rail transfer and shipping processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned Road Transport Contract Holder activities
  • Initiate and support Contract Management Plans
  • Ensure continuous measurement and improvement of End To End costs
  • Deliver robust cost analysis initiatives to identify value leakage and reduce cost exposure
  • Drive contract compliance and maximize contractual opportunities through audits, site visits and joint improvement programs
  • Ensure billing and payment processes are implemented and controlled
  • Actively contribute towards improving Shell Trading staff decisions and resources regarding the selection hauliers
  • Lead/assist in the preparation and reporting of monthly Operation KPI reports and assignment of action items
  • Work with commercial Traders to develop future road transport requirement and develop plans to meet those forecasts
  • Monitor and drive improvement in operational performance and cost control
  • Challenge and improve haulier operations affecting STUSCO pick-up and delivery site
  • Actively seek methods to drive out inefficient costs; wait times/demurrage
  • Active engagement with Station delivery sites to improve product transfer activities, maximize throughput volumes and overall operating efficiency
  • Active engagement of Truck to Rail Transfer Stations and general Rail network operations
  • Act as Liaison with the RT HSSE Team to ensure business alignment on the vision and requirements of RT Safety programs
  • Active and visible management commitment to personal and process safety through regular site visits and safety walks/interventions in and outside of Road Transport sphere (e.g. including maritime, terminal and customer sites)
  • Develop a culture of continuous learning in all aspects of crude oil transport
Requirements:
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full time basis for anyone other than your current employer
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years Commercial or previous Contract Management experience, especially road transport operations, is desired
  • Evidence of the ability to lead and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve improved operational performance and business objectives
  • Prior management and professional experience with bulk liquid trucking is required
  • Prior management and professional experience in terminal operations preferred
  • Must be highly articulate and have advanced communication skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen and strong HSSE competence in field operations
  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
