What You'll Do/Need
A Team Leader leads a focused team of technology professionals to deliver sound technical solutions. The Team Leader's largest client is their team. They provide the tools and training to help the team succeed and grow. The Team Leader will facilitate the communication between the business and their team to help set and follow through with priorities. They set the direction for the team.

A Team Leader will be responsible for the leadership and development of the Unix Team. They may work with the business and other technology teams. In this role the Team Leader may focus some of their time on using their technical expertise and the rest on growing and developing their team members. The Unix Team is responsible for a highly available Unix/Linux environment in an increasingly fast-paced and growing environment. 
A Team Leader will have team members reporting directly to them and they will report to either a Senior Team Leader or a Director. They will conduct telephone pre-screening and face-to-face interviews for new team members and may participate in interviews for other teams. They will conduct annual PEP reviews and make salary and bonus recommendations.

This Team Leader should understand and live our Quicken Loans culture. They will also demonstrate a passion to learn about our business, the technologies that we use and explore new technologies.

Requirements
  • Typically has over eight years of IT or equivalent with understanding of specific area of technology
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Computer Science or a similar technical subject or equivalent
  • At least five years of experience as a team leader
  • Five years leading technical engineering team or equivalent
  • Five years of experience performing server systems design, implementation and administration or equivalent
  • At least five years of experience analyzing system failures to minimize outages and interruptions or equivalent
  • Five or more years of experience working with server class hardware or equivalent
  • Technical certifications preferred (i.e. AIX Specialist, RHCE, VCP, MCITP)
