Description
OPEN Risk Management team is within American Express Risk Management team who manages Credit, Market, and Operational Risk of the small business portfolio. The team works with OPEN business unit and other functional teams, building best-in-class capabilities and processes to manage and monitor risk prudently across customer lifecycle including aiding in product designs, identify profitable prospect, setting strategies at initial account approval process and ongoing customer management, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute lending underwriting strategies of new products in the marketplace, particularly line and pricing strategies. Work with a large cross functional team to design and implement the strategy flawlessly
- Work with operation to develop client management strategies for our large spending card members to meet their need on spending on an OPEN card
- Evaluate current line strategies and identify new opportunities on providing appropriate OPEN credit card line through different programs such as line assignment at new accounts as well as various line increase programs throughout customer lifecycle
- Streamline current business processes to ensure that card members receive improved and consistent experience across all risk decision touch points
- Closely monitor profile and performance of the OPEN lending card to ensure that the current strategies adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements
- Work with cross functional partners to enhance current value proposition that would specifically address small business owners’ need for the products
Qualifications
- This position requires strong analytical and communication skill
- Must have the ability to think outside the box and have the ability to influence others
- Since the position requires working closely with various cross functional team, a strong project management and interpersonal skill is required
- The candidate must be a team player with a positive "will to win" attitude, result driven and has the ability to work in a dynamic high pressure environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a very tight timeline is required
- Ability to handle large datasets using SAS, SQL or other programming knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge of statistical, financial and small business economic analysis are desirable
- Advance degree in a quantitative field is a plus
