Job Summary

Ericsson Managed Services is looking for a candidate to perform Event Management duties in the Network Operations Center (NOC).
The candidate will be responsible for providing Event Management oversight to all NOCC teams, ensuring optimal network performance through monitoring of traffic, performance, and network configuration.
 
Candidates must possess strong leadership skills in parallel to exceptional operations experience, relationship building and problem solving abilities-through highly evolved written and verbal communications practices.
 
The candidate must be highly flexible and willing to work nights and weekends.
 
Responsibilities & Tasks
The candidate will be responsible for the following during the midnight or swing shift.
  • Help drive faster restoration of service through Event Management Oversight.
  • Correlate the impacts of an event across multiple control centers.
  • Resolve event ownership disputes between control centers.
  • Contact the appropriate Customer Care organizations upon awareness of large impacting events.
  • Ensure customer impacting events are worked by the responsible control center and at the correct level of urgency.
  • Review and approve all notifications being sent to the customer teams.  Ensure communications are clear and concise and written in language that allows the recipient to understand.
  • Communicate Internal and External Outages.
  • Serves as after hour and weekend Manager on the NOC floor (employee disputes, system access issues, process issues).
 

Position Qualifications

  • Applied knowledge of network management.
  • Broad range of technical knowledge and experience in wireless & wireline networks.
  • Project management and matrix management skills.
  • Must be a skilled communicator and negotiator and adept at handling conflict resolution, being able to mediate when problems arise. Ability to develop win-win solutions.
  • Ability to wade through superfluous data to identify the root cause and resolution of a given issue at hand.
  • Experience using general office applications in order to perform work assignments.
  • Strong technical / professional knowledge coupled with excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • The ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little guidance, anticipating next steps, taking initiative, exercising discretion and sound judgment and working collaboratively as a member of the team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management and suppliers.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
 
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
  • 5-7 years experience in network technologies and network management, with a minimum of 5 years of management and/or leadership experience.
  • Advanced understanding of Wireless and Wireline networks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, Networking or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and proven expertise in managing and understanding details.  Attention to detail is critical. Able to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Possess the ability to use Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
