As a Solutions Architect specializing in SAS advanced analytics you will help in the support of our sales efforts to the various industries that make up the Communications, Content and Entertainment industry sectors.  Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to think “big picture” in a way that will help create a vision for potential customers, while mapping out the practical and functional details needed to execute a completed vision. 
In order to help SAS successfully maximize revenue opportunities and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction, you will be responsible for providing consultative guidance, including new positioning and capabilities development, demonstrations of software, proof of concept development & delivery, and business oriented presentations that highlight the value and uniqueness of SAS offerings to prospect organizations.  You will also be a significant contributor to a team of people dedicated to ensuring SAS prospect and customer’s business objectives are well understood and SAS software’s capabilities are appropriately aligned to a successful adoption and implementation.

Qualifications

 
Essentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or other quantitative field
  • Eight years of technical sales, systems engineering, project management, applications development and/or customer support.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a presales support role selling complex software solutions to VP and C-level executives
  • At least 7 years of programming and developing SAS applications
  • The ability to demonstrate expert knowledge of SAS functionality and the means of solving business problems through innovative use of analytic methods and practical approaches to customer requirements.       
    Hands on experience building applications using SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Forecast Server, SAS Visual Analytics components, SAS Enterprise Data Integration Server, and SAS enabling technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of Distributed File System (i.e. Hadoop) and Cloud Based Services (i.e. Amazon, Cloudera)
Additional
  • Knowledge of SAS software tools, techniques and methodologies including
  • Forecasting, Segmentation, Market Basket Analysis, Data Mining and Text Mining
  • SAS Business Intelligence and Data integration Server functionality and architecture
  • An understanding of High Performance Analytics including the architecture and benefits from In-Memory Analytics, In-Database and Grid Computing
  • Knowledge of Transportation, Services,  Communications, and/or Hospitality industry or market segments or detailed knowledge of a specific area of industry expertise
  • Experience with sensor data and applied analytics to monitor large amounts of data and to analyze and predict asset maintenance
  • Project leadership skills
  • The ability to work and learn both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to travel 25-50% of the time as business needs require
Preferences
  • A Work location of Dallas, TX
  • Familiarity and experience with competitive offerings to SAS capabilities.
  • Understanding and skilled in data Pre-Processing for analytics by using SAS and SQL processing to:
         - Input and join disparate data
         - Identify or create target variables
         - Transform, combine or create independent variables
         - Interpolate missing values and manage (identify, address and adjust)outliers
         - Transpose data
         - Roll up data while using various techniques to retain attributes
