Description

 
 As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of SAS's strategic objective and total account management through the implementation of sales and marketing strategy within the Health and Life Sciences Industry.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Plans and implements growth plans, including sales, consulting services, and education services.
  • Responsible for achievement of New and Total Software Revenue Targets.  (and services)
  • Directly supervises Account Executives and National Account Manager(s) (player/coach) as he/she implements growth plans, including sales, consulting services, and education services.
  • Coordinates resources from sales and services staff for solution selling. Promotes and reinforces Solutions Selling, Miller-Heiman, and Challenger Sales concepts.
  • Directly manages and appropriately assigns day-to-day activities of sales, sales support, and administrative staff
  • Sets and reviews performance and sales goals for sales and support staff.
  • Works in conjunction with the Strategic Pricing Group to negotiate contracts and bids.
  • Assists sales representatives to meet goals in day-to-day performance, sales, deal structuring and increasing product knowledge.
  • Accompanies representatives on sales calls.
  • Conducts group sales meetings.
  • Responsible for timely recruitment and hiring of staff.
  • Directs complex sales opportunities, including implementation plans, which include the coordination of internal and/or external professional services.
  • Interprets sales policies, advises representatives and sales assistants in the handling of complicated sales and policy issues, and emphasizes the requirement for use of divisionally-adopted sales methodologies.
  • Determines equitable sales assignments.
  • Delivers timely and accurate sales reporting and forecasts to management

Qualifications

 
Essential
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or quantitative field.
  • Eight years of experience in software sales,
  • Two years in a leadership role, coordinating and/or supervising technical projects within the technology industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully achieving a sales target.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 40% to support sales team and business unit requirements.
Additional
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic sales techniques and principles specifically in the software, consulting, or data storage industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least three industries and/or market segments.
  • Knowledge of corporate software or hardware acquisition cycles. Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Preferences
  • Advanced Degree - Masters of Business Administration
  • Knowledge of Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industries and their buying cycles
  • Previous experience in selling or managing sales cycles for Analytical Software sales.
  • Ability to work independently once given clear direction.
  • Work location of Cary, NC headquarters
