The Position

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

¿ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish strategy and prioritization for

operations and business solutions

¿ Develop and cultivate relationships with internal, external partners and stakeholders

¿ Define key criteria and metrics for success, seeking opportunities by understanding

the industry landscape and coordinating due diligence efforts through quantitative and

qualitative analysis

¿ Communicate effective relevant insights to key stakeholders to drive business strategies

and tactics

¿ Ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose for Knowledge Enhancement (KE) and Medical

Affairs (MA), including Field Medical Team (FMT) landscape roadmap

¿ Partner to oversee and manage system changes and operations enhancements and

drive synergies across the business partners and stakeholders as appropriate

¿ Align business objectives from multiple key partners and stakeholders

¿ Follows all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of all activities. Is

accountable for being fully knowledgeable of all relevant policies and for abiding by

these

¿ Is required to obtain and maintain full proficiency and knowledge of projects and other

aspects or issues as provided for and mandated by the company

Planning & Development

¿ Stays abreast of internal and external developments within Knowledge Enhancement

(KE) and Medical Affairs (MA), including Field Medical Team, trends and dynamics, as

these potentially implicate or evolve the development, launch and/or post-marketing

medical direction of the assigned molecules/products, franchise(s), and/or overall

therapeutic area(s). Includes maintaining a basic understanding of legal and regulatory

topics relevant to healthcare/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industries

¿ As needed or requested, supports development, implementation and training of others

on SOPs and other key standards, protocols, processes, databases and tools. As

appropriate, leads updating and/or development and maintenance of all SOPs (standard

operating procedures) and departmental operating procedures relevant for the work and

operations of MOBI

Business Solutions Analyst (E4)

¿ Maintains knowledge of overall MA strategy and ongoing business objectives; reviews

and keeps updated on MA activities and engages in continuous communication and

effective partnering with various Genentech groups

¿ Responsible for budget management and accountability

Operations

¿ Actively participates in MOBI functional teams and represents MOBI in cross-functional

activities and collaborations

¿ Responsible for organizational change management related to assigned projects

¿ Responsible for ensuring data is effective and accessible and provided in a fully

digestible format

¿ Leads and facilitates cross-functional discussions to promote connection and information

sharing

¿ Serves and represents as business expert on projects and interactions with various

stakeholders and business partners within KE and MA, including MA IT and vendors

¿ May be involved in global collaborations with Global Medical Information, KE, MA IT and

associated vendors

¿ Manages diverse range of tasks and develops solutions to complex problems where

analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors,

including inter-organizational impact. Regularly uses ingenuity and innovation within this

process

¿ Partner to drive solutions to a variety of complex problems and initiatives; ensures

solutions are consistent with organization objectives

¿ Collaborates to drive business initiatives from concept through implementation and

determine best course of action

¿ Exerts influence and effective negotiation skills on the overall objectives and long-range

goals of the organization

¿ Conduct ongoing assessment to advance overall business

Who You Are

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

¿ Bachelor's Degree in business or technical field

¿ 8-11 years relevant work experience in driving technology projects from a business and/

or technical perspective

¿ MBA or other relevant business experience

¿ An understanding of modern entrepreneurial and financial models

¿ Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to execute due

diligence processes

¿ A successful history of project leadership in business or technology projects

¿ Proven ability to interact with and provide direction to senior management

¿ Project management, clinical operations and/or clinical systems management

experience along the software development lifecycle, including requirements/

specifications development and user acceptance testing for computer systems

¿ Good judgment and decision-making skills; knows how to make trade-off decisions.

Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for

obtaining results

¿ Self-motivated, self-starter and achievement driven, works without appreciable

supervision

¿ Excellent time management skills: can prioritize multiple tasks and goals and ensure

completion is on-target and within budget

¿ Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills; can influence

without authority in a matrixed organization

¿ PMP certification preferred
