This role represents a partnership between technology and business areas that supports strategic discovery,
planning, advisory, and prioritization of data-related imperatives.  To be successful, this individual must be a data platform capability expert that represents a confluence of both technical and business acumen responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the evolution of the global ecosystem.  This role will work closely with executive sponsors, business subject matter experts, and senior platform leadership to support them by translating business imperatives into platform requirements.  This person is a critical advocate and steward collaborative participation from tactical technical service delivery teams; acts as the liaison between internal finance and sourcing, supplier PMO/Business Offices and ITF service verticals.  This individual must foster strategic relationships, persuade skeptics, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate broad demand for the technical service delivery teams.  They are a platform thought-leader that gauges feasibility and translates strategic needs into future platform capabilities.  Key Success Factors:  ratification of shared platform vision, sustained executive participation and attention, proactive advisory services for all things data, continuous analytic capability demand generation, vocal cross-functional support and advocacy, and broad service adoption (80% reoccurring, 20% new).
Specifically, this role:  


  • Provides strategic advisory and user-centric consulting services to proactively identify new platform capabilities, innovation opportunities, and drive platform adoption.
  • Collaborates with executives and strategic business partners to define future data platform capabilities and service offerings
  • Fosters strategic alignment on architectural capabilities and drives consensus on implementation and funding priorities.
  • Defines data-related enterprise architecture concerns as they relate to information management and strategic analytics.
  • Aligns programs/initiatives with strategic business direction and supports the understanding the TCO of these initiatives/services that support
  • Assists program/service manager in defining an approach for implementing a solution as outlined in the business case.
  • Participates in the definition of strategic technology-related business directions and initiatives.
  • Jointly develops business cases with business partners that clearly show the return on investment, business benefits and costs.
  • Collaborates with tactical delivery project teams to ensure implementation consistency and compliance with architectural vision.
  • Oversees the implementation of the program plan, risk mitigation approach, and key architectural dependencies.
  • Ensures effective communication regarding project execution status to client sponsors and I/S management.
  • Assesses business value of third-party products and services (e.g., SLA's, contracts).
  • Participate in the selection of viable vendors for technology solutions.
  • Collaborates with Technology Acquisition in the negotiation of contracts for I/T products and services.


  • Bachelor's degree is required Masters or MBA desired
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience
  • Provide and foster a culture that provides superior and differentiated customer service to a broad range of constituents
  • Extensive experience demonstrating the business value realized from the visionary use of technology
  • Must have a strong business acumen that can articulate technical concepts to an executive audience
  • Strong working knowledge of broad enterprise architecture concepts, disciplines, and capabilities
  • Prior experience participating in business strategy alignment is a plus
  • Successful implementation of data transformation, integration, and value-added analytic programs
  • Excellent analytical thinker with an ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Prior experience with campaign management, customer insights, or omni-channel marketing is desired
  • Data centric and detail oriented with extensive information management and data governance knowledge and implementation experience
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to generate stakeholder buy-in and lead through influence at a senior management level
  • Persuasive consensus building with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Prior experience developing and maintaining effort estimates and budgets desired
  • Strong working knowledge of database design, data modeling, and data integration tools
  • Prior experience with MPP platforms such as AsterData or Vertica
  • Prior experience implementing data solutions using Hadoop
  • Knowledge of applied machine learning at scale is a plus
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus
  • Strong ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Positive minded with a can do attitude
