Criminal Investigator Job

Location: Cincinnati, OH

 

Duties:

 

As a Criminal Investigator, you will be responsible for enforcement of all offenses against the criminal laws of the United States, the protection of all personnel, the protection of all property, the protection off all civil rights and the preservation of the peaceful environment on all property owned by the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

• Maintain statistics for use in analysis of crime and incident trends to prepare reports for presentation.

• Make crime scene assessments and arrests or directs the arrest of persons in violation of Federal or State law(s).

• Conduct interviews and interrogations.

• Assist in the vulnerability survey of the field station.
• Responsible for evidence i.e. ensure accuracy of evidencedocumentation, keep disposition logs, etc.
• Conducts training regarding proper handling, collecting and packaging of evidence for all VA Police Officers.
• Develop and use specialized investigative techniques, devices and procedure. 

Work Schedule:  1^st Shift 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday-Friday (However investigations could extend beyond the span of a single shift)

Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.
 
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.  Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
