The
Yum! Brands Controls department ensures complete and accurate
accounting for our restaurant divisions. As part of the HUB, our shared
services organization, this position will support our domestic Pizza Hut
Brand, and you will also interact with other finance functions, as well
as with operations. While you’ll be finance pro with a keen eye for
detail, you will also exercise the right side of your brain as you use
creativity to solve strategic challenges. You will balance managing
competing priorities, and you will partner with a diverse group of
leaders in high pressure circumstances, all while keeping your cool and
providing value culled from your prior work experience and industry
knowledge. You’re a high performer looking for a career, not a job. You

JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform core accountabilities for Pizza Hut U.S. Accounting and Reporting
-Execute
all period accounting responsibilities and analyses including P&L
costs such as COS, price variance, usage variance, inventory reserves,
fixed costs, and incentive programs. Analyze period activity against
prior period, prior year, forecast or other measures. Partner with brand
planning teams to identify and resolve any issues and determine key
drivers of variances.
-Ensure PH’s financial statements and store level reporting are complete, accurate and in accordance with Yum policy and GAAP. -Lead period close meetings with various HUB functions. -Partner with HUB and brand finance teams to identify and resolve any accounting or other issues. -Provide ongoing support to PH for ad hoc requests and communicate in a timely and accurate manner all significant or unusual items to the PH Finance. -Provide coaching and support to other Control and HUB team members and assist in their development as needed. -Prepare/review period, quarter, and annual schedules in HFM to ensure timely and accurate submission to YUM External Reporting. -Review various account reconciliations prepared by other team members in addition to responsibility for preparing certain reconciliations. Quarterly Reporting and Analysis
Take
critical leadership role in the preparation and review of key quarterly
deliverables including the QBR, MD&A, HFM submissions, balance
sheet flux analyses, etc. to ensure all data submitted to YUM for SEC
reporting purposes is accurate and timely.
Other Projects and Analysis
-Function
in leadership role in the HUB’s SOX compliance program. Work directly
with Senior Manager over SOX testing to review all areas necessary.
-Partner with U.S. Control leadership to perform detailed reviews of all PH balance sheet accounts with account owners at least annually and participate in annual balance sheet review with the YUM Controller. -Provide support and direction to other team members within U.S. Control and assist in their development as needed. -Work with other US Control departments on unusual or complex transactions to ensure proper accounting. -Involved in ad hoc special projects, as needed, such as PeopleSoft reimplementation | |

EDUCATION:
-B.S. in Accounting preferred or B.S in Finance, if candidate has significant accounting experience. -MBA considered a plus.
EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):
-CPA preferred. -Seven years+ experience in Finance/Accounting, preferably with YUM accounting and/or planning experience. -Prior experience in Control and exposure to MD&A preferred. -Demonstrate understanding of GAAP and ability to interpret and implement accounting policy changes. -Excellent communication, written and oral, as well as interpersonal skills are critical. -Ability to quickly mine large volumes of data, manipulate the data via Excel, analyze the data, and then reach appropriate conclusions is critical to success in position. -Very strong attention to detail and organization skills required. -Proven analytical skills and desire to learn are required. -Ability to balance workload and drive process improvements and efficiencies are a must. -Must be able to work overtime, especially at period and quarter end. -Must be pro-active, able to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously and work independently. -Ability to analyze complex issues and propose resolutions. -Proven ability to drive process improvement initiatives and produce results with limited oversight. -Self motivated with drive and enthusiasm for achieving quality results. -Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software applications. -Proficiency with PeopleSoft, Hyperion and SLIM preferred. |
