3M is seeking a Vascular Access Specialist for the Critical and Chronic Care Division. Be part of what’s next!
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Vascular Access Specialist will
primarily be responsible communicating clinical IV Site knowledge
transfer from 3M’s C3SD selling/marketing organization to our customers.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Training clinicians about 3M I.V. Site care products for evaluations or conversions (product in-servicing)
- Supporting product evaluations with follow-up calls, troubleshooting, data analysis
- Making sales calls with sales representatives and providing clinical and technical information that supports/enhances the sales presentation
- Assisting sales and marketing with business presentations
- Providing continuing education credit-eligible education programs on wound and skin care topics that support 3M’s business objectives
- Training sales reps on I.V site care principles and reinforcing or clarifying product training as needed
- Attending sales and/or marketing meetings and conference calls as requested
- Providing consultation to 3M on I.V site care related issues
- Supporting 3M’s sales and marketing efforts at local, regional and national trade shows/meetings
- Support usage of 3M products in the context of their educational and sales support efforts
- Customer Satisfaction:
- Monitors the overall impact of symposia evaluations and product usage
- Assesses customers’ resulting level of satisfaction and provides appropriate follow-up to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
- Promptly communicates results to appropriate 3M personnel
- Monitors and/or organizes responses in cooperation with sales representative to maintain long-term customer relation
- Participating in professional association
- Completing a weekly/monthly report of activities utilizing designated format for designated personnel at 3M
- Utilizing electronic resources, communication and scheduling tools provided by 3M
- Communicating with 3M Program Manager in Dallas regarding relevant business opportunities or work issues
- Participating in continuing education to maintain or enhance current Vascular Access knowledge and practice
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors level degree from an accredited university or higher and/or have a completed nursing certification
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license, in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years of intravenous (I.V.) site experience
- Minimum of 5 years general nursing experience in a hospital
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an vascular access specialist (i.e. IV Nurse Specialist; PICC team member; IV Nurse educator)
- Master’s in nursing or related field preferred
- CRNI preferred (Certified Registered Nurse in Infusion Therapy)
- Willing to travel 75% may include weekends
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, knowledge of Excel a plus
- Current membership in professional organization e.g. AVA or INS
- Ability to function independently
- Organizational and time management skills
- Understanding of principles of adult learning
- Experience with technical presentations
Coverage Territory: Upper North West
Travel: May include up to 80% travel including overnights and weekends. Must be able to access a major US airport hub.
