Operational Excellence LeadAccess Solutions Program Strategy & Management provides a variety of internal- and external-facing solutions and support to other Access Solutions functions and teams, brand and other MCCO (Managed Care & Customer Operations) functions and teams to ensure best-in-class patient services. Accordingly, the general purpose of the OE Planning Lead role is to lead the development, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of an efficient and effective portfolio planning process. This role would frame options for Access Solutions leadership to consider and to decide on which tools and services to invest in and support.
- Manages the investment portfolio for Access Solutions tools & services to ensure that the organization’s strategic business and organizational objectives are measured and exceeded.
- Maximizes the portfolio impact and value by developing scenario solutions and by creating phase gates to ensure the most substantial initiatives are added to the portfolio.
- Implements and manages strategies and processes to support an ongoing portfolio planning process that accurately highlights the portfolio pipeline and impact over a 3 year horizon.
- Provides direction to the Access Solutions team to ensure the maintenance of a comprehensive portfolio planning function that is focused on enabling the most efficient, effective and customer focused delivery of Access Solutions services.
- Manages the portfolio metrics as it relates to the health of the portfolio and organizational impact of portfolio initiatives.
- Maintains ongoing communication with cross-functional partners to ensure impact of any changes to departmental wide portfolio on processes, technology, and financials are assessed.
- Reviews, analyzes, and reports on the portfolio road map.
- Anticipates, identifies, and responds pro-actively to portfolio maintenance needs, with particular attention to infrastructure risk management and to preserve long-term portfolio value.
- Act, and is accountable for others in his/her team acting, in complete & total compliance with all laws, regulations and policies
- Utilize only approved resources and messages to meet goals and targets
- Participate,
as and when needed or otherwise appropriate, in cross-functional or
other project teams; helping the overall business of Genentech to
continuously evolve, improve and excel.
Who You Are
- Bachelors Degree
- MBA or other related graduate-level degree is a plus
- An average of 6 or more years' work experience
- A minimum of 3 years portfolio management or related experience.
- Previous work experience as an internal or external consultant, portfolio analyst or investment analyst highly preferred
- Previous work experience in the healthcare industry preferred
- Must demonstrate knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, the issues and trends in healthcare reimbursement and the managed care environment
- Experience leading cross-functional teams without authority
- Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding qualitative and quantitative goals and targets
- Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings
