Description
The successful candidate for this position is an integral member of the Planning, Reporting and Analysis Team within International Payment Options (IPO) Finance, and will work with business partners globally. The Manager will be responsible for the consolidation, analysis and communication of IPO’s financial performance. The candidate will partner closely with IPO team members, service partners, and other key stakeholders to deliver value-added insight and analytics into IPOs business performance.
In addition, the Manager will be responsible for leading and supporting various ad-hoc and strategic business analysis across the organization. These analyses are aimed at providing exceptional decision-support to IPO’s senior leadership and help drive the global business strategy. As a critical point of contact for IPO across the Planning & Analysis community and service groups globally, the Manager in this role will gain significant exposure to colleagues, functions and disciplines across American Express.
Moreover, the Manager in this role will gain significant exposure to IPO’s LFO, Enterprise Growth HQ, and various senior Business and Finance leaders across the organization. Responsibilities include analyzing and reporting business performance and profitability by product/region, analyzing initiatives to improve margins, developing predictive financial models, defining business drivers and unit costs, supporting investment optimization, and developing/maintaining financial databases and leveraging data for reporting and decision support.
Qualifications
* Strong organizational and analytical skills required
* Exceptional communication skills – verbal, written and through presentations
* Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages
* Strong leadership skills required
* Proven track record of managing/navigating wide-ranging organizations and processes
* Highly motivated individual with an ability to drive results and work with ambiguity
* Ability to handle high pressure environment with aggressive deadlines
* Track record of innovation and thought leadership in previous roles
* Educational requirement: 5+ years of relevant work experience, MBA or similar professional degree preferred
* Preferred Additional: Background in planning & analysis preferred, Experience with financial databases such as TM1, Access, Microstrategy, and Oracle preferred
