Position Responsibilities:
Alaska Development Team (ADTeam) represents the ADTeam’s interests in this highly dynamic and complex working environment. The objective of the position is twofold (time equally divided),
- Ensure good communication, steer and alignment between the different groups with respect to ADTeam’s activities (logistics, permitting, communications including stakeholder engagement, local contractors, logistics, Venture, HSE, etc) within the Anchorage office and with the Houston based ADTeam’s Leadership and staff.
- Provide real time ADTeam support to emergency response and simultaneous operations for ADTeam’s data acquisition activities.
Accountabilities:
- In a general sense, act as ADTeam’s "eyes, ears and face" in the Anchorage office ensuring integration and alignment with respect to operations, logistics, permitting, communications including Stakeholder engagement, local contractors, planning, HSE and other related activities by being the “on the ground” Development representative. This will require attending all relevant Alaska based meetings with agreed decision making accountabilities and will require occasional short duration travel to Barrow or North Slope villages
- Majority of focus will be on the field survey programs, working with operations, logistics and permitting to ensure fit for purpose cost effective execution plans are realized to deliver the data requirements defined by the Development staff in the Houston office. This will require identifying and evaluating alternatives for execution with staff in the Anchorage office
- In years when exploration also has field surveys, such as shallow hazards, this position will help support those activities in addition to development responsibilities
- Represent the ADTeam at Village, Community Meetings, NSB, and Regulatory Agency engagements, etc singularly or in addition to ADTeam staff who travel from Houston
- Communicate with the ADTeam Houston based members, ensuring the data acquisition programs, development plans, communication plans, etc are in compliance with Shell's Alaska standards. Participate in weekly Alaska Development Leadership Meeting
- During the operating season, support the emergency response lead for the ADTeam data acquisition programs
- The candidate must communicate on a daily basis during with the operations leads. Depending on the level of activity in a particular season, survey activities could include geotech soil boring, ice gouge surveys, strudel scour, buoy deployment, onshore and offshore baseline surveys
- Other duties would include attending project audits and reviews including safety Audits
- Coordinate the Houston staff input into the After Action Reviews
- Occasional travel to Houston for team meetings and workshops
- Support Goal Zero culture by reinforcing Shell expectation of incident-free operations
- Represent the ADTeam in the development of multi-year survey plans, workforce development, contractor mentoring, interaction with the Local Content Team, business planning and updating risk and opportunity plans
Position Requirements:
- BA degree from an accredited University
- 7+ years experience with data acquisition programs
- 7+ years experience with oil and gas operations
- Resourceful and able to develop and implement action plans
- Ability to travel to remote locations to represent the ADTeam at Alaska village community meetings (e.g: North Slope Borough) and Regulatory Agency engagements
- Solid level of NEPA procedures
