Description
American Express Campus Undergraduate - Digital Commerce Summer Internship 2013-2014
Help reinvent currency for a living by applying for a Digital Commerce summer internship at American Express.
The digital age brings a new world of opportunity. People are spending their lives in The Cloud. They’re using their phones instead of their wallets, replacing check signing with mobile payments, and transacting with multiple devices and platforms. In response, we’re using digital channels to serve and deepen these relationships by mobilizing communities through social media, delivering location based offers via mobile phones and tablets, evolving Membership Rewards as a social currency, developing new partnerships, and inserting American Express into digital trends beyond payments and into everyday moments.
There are Digital Commerce internships in many business lines at American Express: Interactive, Small Business, Pre-Paid, Serve, and Technologies. While their business objectives might be different, each group is undergoing a digital transformation. Over ten weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to leverage their unique assets to help create a new digital future.
Digital Commerce internships are a hybrid of business development, digital marketing, and product development. We look for talent who has experience working with technology to solve problems as well as an endless passion for digital trends and its impact on customer behavior. Individuals willing to take risks and develop new ideas. An entrepreneurial spirit is welcome here. You might juggle researching new external partnerships one minute and then translate business needs into technology solutions the next minute. All while potentially developing new digital applications or operations across our different lines of business.
Our well-established Summer Intern Program will provide high-performing undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in projects that have strategic, operational and/or financial significance to the company. Interns will meet lines of business and leaders from all levels and have a chance to learn about the culture and values of the organization as well as network across regions and functions.
