Within
Ernst & Young's Indirect Tax group, we are currently seeking
candidates for an outstanding career opportunity as an Experienced Staff
Consultant in our Customs & International Trade (CIT) practice. Our
CIT practice assists multinational corporations in managing their
global trade activities-with strategic planning to minimize import
duties and indirect taxes, trade compliance to minimize and manage
risks, and process improvements to increase supply chain efficiency. By
leveraging rules adopted by the World Trade Organization, the World
Customs Organization, and multinational treaties, our worldwide team of
over 350 professionals in 140 countries develops and deploys global
services to address these issues. Our team is multidisciplinary,
including professionals with accounting, legal, government, and industry
backgrounds. This diversity of backgrounds allows us to look at
situations from multiple perspectives, helping clients efficiently reach
their objectives.
Our Indirect Tax
practice provides a wide range of tax services for many of the world's
largest multinational corporations. The Indirect Tax practice helps
clients identify and address complex domestic and international tax
issues and assists them in strategically aligning different areas of
taxation.

Young's National Tax Department (NTD) serves high-profile, national and
multinational clients and is led by nationally recognized tax
professionals who represent some of the firm's most senior tax talent.
We provide a range of domestic and international transactional tax
planning services and tax-related advisory services. National Tax
includes top tax practitioners-many have held policy-making positions at
the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service
(IRS), and on the staffs of Congressional tax-writing committees. The
combination of knowledge and experience forms the basis for National
Tax's ability to help clients analyze the effects of tax law and
regulations and to assist clients in determining and implementing
appropriate tax planning.
Responsibilities
Research customs and international trade issues.
With the help of senior staff, advise clients on customs compliance issues and potential duty savings strategies.
Perform customs compliance work for clients.
Assist in developing and delivering quality planning ideas with timely and responsive services and high-quality work products.
Keep informed of current customs developments and effectively apply knowledge to client situations.
Thoroughly and accurately analyze information.
Assist in developing recommendations and implementation plans.
Make informed decisions in complex and judgmental areas.
Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork skills and leadership initiative.
Participate in client service teams.
Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals.
