Skype and Lync are for doing things together, whenever you’re apart. We make it simple to share experiences – big or small - with the people that matter to you, wherever they are. Our technology lets people work with colleagues, hold a meeting, share stories, celebrate birthdays, learn a language – just about anything you need to do together every day. It’s all made possible by the people who work here. And you could be one of them. Software Development Engineer Our platforms and services teams deliver joined up experiences to individual users and large businesses alike. We power Skype and Lync on major platforms across desktops, mobile devices, TVs and gaming platforms and we do it all through rapid and continuous integration, with the scrum team owning the challenge. What you'll do: •develop cloud systems that offer a reliable communications service to millions of users around the world •improve service quality within a continuous integration and deployment model •produce services which provide continual feedback and data to allow rapid iteration and scalability •produce reports to fuel data driven discussions •actively contribute to team deliverables by using methods like pair programming, code reviews and design discussions. Who we are looking for: •a talented software engineer with experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and highly distributed systems •someone with a good grounding in developing complex, large scale software in C++/C#/Java or equivalent languages, with experience of multi-threaded programming •a problem solver who can use precise questions to remove ambiguity and assumptions •an effective communicator who can demonstrate the ability to deal with iterative plan adjustments •a software engineer with experience in an Agile sprint development model. And naturally, we offer all the benefits you’d expect from Microsoft. Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer and supports workforce diversity. |
