The QA / QC Technician will execute Quality Control inspections at the facility level, to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards. This position is a 2nd shift opportunity.
In addition, you will:
  • Read engineering drawing specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions
  • Read, analyze and provide critical feedback on prints, material specification, and other technical documents
  • Facilitate problem-solving activities with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and Quality Department team members
  • Apply Continuous Improvement tools to support appropriate corrective and preventive actions if / when process deficiencies are noted
  • Work QA procedures & perform inspection to ensure compliance with specified requirements in progress and final stages of the process
  • Work in partnership with manufacturing management to eliminate the causes of quality problems
  • Be responsible for visual inspection, dimensional inspection, review of certification documentation, review of job order package for revision control, and tested production
  • Retrieve information, bills of materials, GRR (Global Rejection Reports), and drawings from computerized manufacturing software
  • Enter and retrieve data from the Quality Departments on-line databases such as non-conformance reports, supplier deviation reports, and corrective action reports
  • Understand GE Oil & Gas policies, procedures, and specifications that are related to Quality
  • Understand requirement of national and international standards that apply to quality of special projects as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality Inspection or Quality Technician role
  • GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
  • Demonstrated ability to read Blue prints
  • Experience using Microsoft office – Excel, Word
  • Previous manufacturing quality experience
  • Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GDT) experience
  • Strength in MS-Word / Excel
  • Understanding of work orders and engineering drawings interpretation; use and selection of inspection, test and measurement instruments, software applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic reasoning ability
