Macquarie's Market Operations Division is currently seeking to appoint a Data Analyst to be based in our Houston Office.
Corporate Operations Group (COG) provides specialist professional services, human resources, workplace infrastructure, and technology and market operations to Macquarie's businesses. The primary purpose of COG is to support and enhance the value of Macquarie through the creation of an efficient, scalable operating model. This is evident across the activities of each of the divisions which comprises of Business Improvement and Strategy Division (BIS), Business Services Division (BSD), COG Business Management, Human Resources Division (HR), Market Operations and Technology.
Macquarie's Market Operations Division is currently seeking to appoint a Data Analyst for a Houston based role. They will be joining a recently established team which performs maintenance of Client Static and Market Data. The suitable applicant should be enthusiastic, flexible, can work under time pressure and able to demonstrate initiative in a challenging and varied role.
Responsibilities:
- Update client static data and ensure that all changes in client static information, commission rates, credit limits, confirmation delivery, custodian details and settlement instructions, etc are updated promptly and accurately
- Financial market data setup including instrument static, market indexes, rates and physical commodity products
- Ensure the integrity of the static data within internal and external systems
- Verify Client and market data setup by colleagues
- Perform call-backs to clients to verify or authenticate payment and settlement instructions received from clients and counterparties
- Maintain high level of communication with other global team locations with a view to providing global coverage
Key Skills and Knowledge Areas Required
- Attention to detail and speed in data processing.
- Ability to investigate issues and escalate them effectively
- Basic knowledge of upstream & downstream dependencies of the data
- Understanding of the risks and impact to business of incorrect data
- Knowledge of 3 rd party vendors like RightAngle, Bloomberg, Reuters or Omgeo Alert is an advantage
- Self -motivated, independent and can work well under pressure
- Strong commitment to completion and delivery
- Understand and promote the importance of controls and procedures
- Be confident and able to communicate effectively with senior management
- Accept accountability and ownership of tasks
Requirements
- At least 1 years experience, preferably in a financial services organisation
- Able to work on public holidays and shifting schedules (if required)
- Willing to work extended hours during high volume day or staff shortage
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Attention to detail and organisation skills
