Responsible for the labor/material efficiency and quality of product from high speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Actively engaged in day-to-day plant floor activities – spend majority of day on the floor addressing quality issues through various processes and tools to engage operator involvement.
  • Utilization of strong background in applying statistical quality control tools for process and product controls, such as SPC, Gage R&R, Process Capability, Process FMEA, and DOE.
  • Drive to maintain a partnership with our shop operations personnel (both hourly and salary) to promote a team that reacts aggressively to factory inefficiencies.
  • Drive permanent resolution of manufacturing issues (PPM rejects) and consumer issues (Service Calls) caused by supplier defects.
  • Develop Preventative Maintenance plans and ensure compliance to CTQ's and maximize equipment uptime.
  • Develop a stringent area Quality Plan that monitors what should be right in the manufacturing process and finished product.
  • Review daily service calls for trends (particularly negative) and significant or abnormal changes to reduce SCR in Assembly areas and reduce OGR.
  • Review inspection results and look for trends and significant or abnormal events to improve quality yields and reduce scrap.
  • Drive EHS process improvements.
  • Possess a personal EHS focus in order to ensure a safe, compliant and productive manufacturing environment.
  • Monitor scrap data/reports to drive resolution of scrap issues and work projects to prevent future scrap.
  • Monitor yield data/reports to drive resolution of yield issues and work projects to improve future yield and OGR.
  • Training, active involvement in VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) safety teams and the development of quality and productivity projects.
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or comparable experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing/operations or quality roles.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change.
  • Solid verbal/written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft products (especially Excel) and ability to grasp new systems quickly.
  • Strong project management and analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate/implement solutions.
  • High initiative, self-starter, proactive, dedicated, results oriented, a team player.
    · Some travel may be required.

  • Knowledge of Lighting manufacturing processes.
  • Experience & training in lean manufacturing practices.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

  • Position can be located in Mattoon, IL or Bucyrus, OH.
