Job Summary

Join Apple's Online Store team as an Engineering Manager to lead a team of very talented engineers and technologists and build innovative applications and custom solutions that serve millions of customers world-wide. As member of the engineering management team, you will play a critical role in shaping new systems architecture and technical direction for the Apple Online Store organization; working with project managers and external vendors to ensure high quality deliverables.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in managing highly technical teams and mentoring engineers and guiding them in career development and talent planning.
  • Deep understanding of Object Oriented and SOA design concepts and current experience developing in Java programming language, and the Spring framework, especially Spring MVC.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and database systems including Oracle, mySQL, NOSQL, etc.
  • Well verse with the use of XML, JSON and REST services.
  • Experience building web-based applications and services using web tools and technologies including HTML, Ajax, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with UNIX, SCM, and UML
  • Working knowledge of source control software (SVN or Git).

Description

Extensive experience in enterprise systems and software architecture, design, and development and working knowledge of the full SW development lifecycle. Strong knowledge of concurrency, scalability and fault tolerant designs.

Education

BS degree in computer science or equivalent field, MS/PhD degree preferred

Additional Requirements

Meticulous attention to technical and visual details. Requirements analysis, conceptual, logical and detailed design skills. Working knowledge of Content Management System architecture, visualization and development processes
