Job Summary
The
Apple Global Human Resources Technology team is looking for an
experienced senior project management professional to join our Program
Management Office (PMO) team. The team applies project management
methodology to support the implementation of key systems and/or business
processes in the HR environment.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of progressive experience in a broad-based project/program management or PMO environment is required.
- 5 years of experience using project support tools such as OmniPlan, MS Project are required.
- Effective time management experience is required.
- Skill & experience in organizational change management are required.
- Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure without direct supervision.
- Bachelor's degree in business, or computer science is required.
- Proven track record of developing & implementing major projects on time & w/in budget is required.
- Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills are required.
- A proven track record of successfully leading multiple concurrent projects of medium (4-8 months) and large (8-12 months) scope.
- Makes a habit of using data and analysis to make decisions and influence others
- Demonstrated success in business process improvement/reengineering
- Drives change laterally across organizations using influence skills
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate agreements with multiple dependent stakeholders
- Thrives in ambiguous work environment
- Strong team player with a high degree of flexibility
- Knowledge of HR systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of PMO services is required.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.

Description
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing & executing work plans for multiple mid
to large scale projects during any phase of the project life cycle, from
conception through final implementation. To define & monitor
resource requirements for initiatives & transfer project management
expertise, training & tools developed by the PMO. This role will
be part of the Program Management Office (PMO) that supports project
work in the planning & executing of the project portfolio.
Responsibilities include leading the coordination of resources, project
documentation, project status reporting, project risk management, change
management as well as post implementation reviews.
Essential Duties:
Manages all aspects of the development & implementation of assigned
complex projects.
Interface & manages all stakeholders affected by the project, i.e.
Business Owners & Information Technology personnel.
Develops & maintains detailed work plans, schedules, project
estimates, resource plans & status reports.
Conceptualizes & develops effective project plans, methodologies
& approaches.
Develops project success metrics.
Continuously monitors progress & takes corrective actions that
ensure successful achievement of project goals.
Conducts project meetings, project tracking & analysis.
Ensures adherence to quality standards & reviews project
deliverables.
Develops effective communication strategies.
Keeps project owners & sponsors informed of progress, challenges,
& barriers.
Reports status into the PMO bimonthly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The role requires the skills to influence decisions and facilitate
change management through collaboration and leadership. Candidate must
be able to act as a liaison between the business and technology groups
to ensure business projects needs are adequately met with technology
solutions. A critical key to success is the ability to gain alignment
between the technology and business strategy to create a phenomenal
customer experience by proactive partnering with all levels, including
Sr. Leaders, across both the Business, IS&T and HR communities.
The ideal candidate will be self-directed, motivated and comfortable
working in an extremely fast paced environment with strong analytical,
project management and coordination skills to handle a variety of
activities and complexities spanning the organization. Candidates must
be willing to work at a detailed level while still being able to
abstract ideas for communication to team and senior management.
Candidate will strive for continuous improvement incorporating Apple’s
best practices for Project Management to ensure consistent delivery of
quality projects.
Key outcomes include successfully delivered projects at a high quality,
on-time, within budget. This will require the Project Manager to
aggressively manage and police project scope, drive the project
lifecycle, closely monitor schedule and resources to meet business
objectives.
Key interactions include constant and effective communication with
managers and leaders at various levels of the organization, as well as
subject matter experts in a variety of business, functional and
technology areas.
