DPR Construction is seeking a Tax Manager/Director with 10+ years of diversified experience to join our Tax Team.As a member of the tax team you will be responsible for all tax issues impacting DPR. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Preparation of the partnership and S corporation tax returns for all of the DPR entities.
- Preparation and/or review of multi-state sales/use tax returns.
- Preparation of annual property tax returns.
- Review of federal and multi-state payroll tax returns.
- Annual filing of Secretary of State registration forms.
- Tax audits for any of the above as they arise.
- Tax research, analysis and recommendations relating to all of the above.
- Management of shareholder ownership information, including calculation of periodic tax distributions, tracking and updating ownership and option activity, and responding to shareholder inquiries.
- Provision of tax advice to subsidiaries and joint venture partners.
- Interaction with a variety of groups (i.e., the Finance and Accounting team and CFO, management team, Human Resources, Payroll, regional leaders, project teams and others), applying your tax and business knowledge to the challenges at hand.
- Maintenance of current knowledge of US, state, local and foreign tax rules impacting DPR’s businesses and operations.
- Identification of opportunities where your knowledge of tax, business and DPR can improve DPR’s operations, profitability and stature.
- Excellent listening and strong communication/presentation skills. You must be able to effectively communicate complex tax ideas and processes to varied audiences, and to successfully give presentations to both small and large groups.
- A desire to assist, teach, learn and grow, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent customer service experiences.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues, both singularly and within a group environment.
- Ability to look at issues from all sides (not just tax) and fully understand their impact and your suggested resolutions on DPR.
- A passion for taxes and the impact they have on individuals and businesses.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), tax return preparation software, and tax research software.
- 10+ years of progressive and diversified tax experience, including research and compliance experience with entity tax returns, payroll tax, sales and use tax, property tax, and multi-state.
- A solid understanding of partnership and S corporation tax rules, and exposure to multi-state taxes.
- Tax experience with construction contractors is preferred but not required.
- Ability/experience managing a team of tax professionals.
- Mergers and Acquisitions experience is a plus.
- A CPA license and/or MST are preferred. CCIFP is also a plus.
- Ability to travel 10+ percent of the time to DPR’s regional offices.
