Citi Investment Management (CIM), with approximately $27 billion in AUM as of December 31, 2013, manages assets across multiple asset classes for HNW and UHNW clients of Citi Private Bank.  CIM manages a broad suite of investment strategies within single and multi-asset class products.
 
CIM is seeking a US Trader to manage and execute the trade flow for US equities, investment grade corporate and municipal bonds, agencies and treasuries.  The individual will oversee the operations of the trading desk; addressing and resolving daily trading, recon and ad hoc issues that would otherwise impede the work flow of the investment professionals.  He/She will be the liaison between the desk and the different business partners, vendors and brokers.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Responsible for providing high quality equity trade execution for multiple portfolios across equities, investment grade corporate and municipal bonds, US Agencies and Treasuries.
  • Analyze, present & execute on relative value and credit curve swap ideas to the fixed income portfolio managers.
  • Evaluate, maintain and update broker algorithms as necessary for trade execution.
  • Investigate daily trade breaks, review transactions, reconcile trade discrepancies and work with our US and EMEA back office.
  • Work closely with CIM senior management and portfolio management teams on day-to-day portfolio management issues effecting security placements.
  • Participate with technology developers, system administrators, database administrators and project management to further enhance global trading platform solutions for various strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage trading desk operations, controls, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain relevant electronic exchange relationships with both approved brokers and third party vendors.
  • Serve as key member of the Brokerage Committee reporting on best execution services as measured by third party vendor.  

Qualifications

 
Key Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with specialization in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related field required. MBA and/or CFA a plus.  A series 7 license required.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and other financial applications preferred such as Microsoft Office programs.
  • Minimum 5 years experience and exposure to domestic/global equity market structure, FX, cash and derivative transactions.
  • A drive for excellence reflecting ownership mentality.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, excellent interpersonal and team work skills. 
  • Some knowledge of how trading and back offices processes function together a plus.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FINRA series 63 and 55.
  • Prior experience with Charles River IMS highly desired.
