Description
PURPOSE
Lead and manage delivery of client technical specifications to
project team with minimal guidance which includes gathering requirements
and creating specifications; ensuring and managing quality deliverables
on time and within budget, to customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create, track and report on technical project timelines throughout the system development life cycle
· Facilitate and lead requirements gathering discussions
with multiple clientsTranslate client requirements and create
techno-functional specifications for new study start-ups and existing
Electronic Date Capture software systems
· Manage multiple client projects simultaneously and maintain strong customer relationships.
· Serve as the escalation point for unresolved issues and
work with client managers, vendors and internal members for resolutions
· Respond to EDC-related questions from internal and external team members
· Facilitates and manages internal communications regarding system deliverable timelines
· Create change order documentation when updates to systems
are required by client to define scope and work with internal project
resources in all departments to obtain required estimates and approvals
· Manage project timelines and quality; determine resource needs; identify out-of-scope work
· Partner with other Project Managers to develop and implement process improvements
· Develop documentation templates and best practices to
enhance efficiency and effectiveness of technical requirements gathering
process
· Train and mentor junior staff and may coordinate the work of more junior level staff
· Manage customer expectations for scope and timing of EDC system functionality
· Develop and manage long term customer relationships.
· Monitor quality and efficiency across the CTS group to
identify trends and opportunities for improvements. Ensure sharing of
learning across projects.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Previous experience with the management of technical projects
· Previous experience in a System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) environment
· Previous experience and proven competence as a writer of high-quality technical documentation
· Superior written and verbal communication skills with an
ability to write clearly and concisely with a strong attention to
technical details
· Demonstrated experience of developing a wide range of
documents which supports the full software engineering life cycle with
an understanding of web technologies and the ability to grasp technical
concepts.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
· Previous experience with clinical data management systems (CDMS) preferred
· Excellent project management skills
· Ability to work with minimal supervision, using available resources, e.g., functional managers, senior staff
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, technical writing,
or mathematical sciences, or related field and a minimum of 8 years
relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education, training
and experience
