Context/Scope:
Diageo

Purpose of Role:
1) Responsible for achieving budgeted sales within assigned region or assigned account base.
2) Develops and assists in execution of programs to achieve maximum sales volume consistent with sales projections.
3) Accounts are typically independently owned and the least sophisticated in terms of category management.
Financial Responsibility:
Manage operating budget to cover costs of merchandising supplies and responsible business entertainment.
Manage A&P budget for 4 Alabama Distributors.
Complexity of Role:
Develop a general understanding of business, financials, products/services, with emphasis on the market, or account needs.
Complexity is moderate (territory/assigned accounts, products/services, sales or account management process).
Management Responsibility:
1)Has moderate authority/opportunity to set and negotiate product/service terms.
2) Is beginning to plan own territory or account approach and monitors resources within Diageo standards.
Decision Making:
Solves a range of straightforward problems; analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures
Key Outputs:
Establish
Diageo as the premier supplier in assigned territory through market
knowledge, constant and reliable call frequency.
Maintain
maximum store inventories through program communication (pre-selling
using Persuasive Selling Format), new distribution and product transfer.
Execution
1) Installs all merchandising materials on a timely basis in each retail account.
2) Assist management with program development.
3) Communicate Diageo added value through knowledge of retail trends and unit profit through reports
4) Monitor and report on competitor activity in assigned territory
5) Provide product knowledge and wine seminars to retail customers
6) Work with customers to understand & influence their selling capacity.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
· Bachelor degree required
· 2-4 years relevant work experience required
· Selling experience as part of an organization with Sales training
· Understanding of retailer and/or distributor strategy and operations
· Analytical and presentation skills
