Intuit’s Legal Compliance & Policy team is
tasked with building, protecting and expanding Intuit's competitive
advantage and customer experience. We intelligently manage risk, shaping
strategy to drive better business decisions for our internal and
external environment.
A
candidate for this role will be able to partner effectively across
Intuit (such as CTO, Corporate Affairs, IT, HR, Information Security,
Data Services and business product teams) to enable “data stewardship”
best practices – including appropriate data collection, use, flow, and
storage. This candidate will advance compliance with global data and
privacy laws in a balanced, risk-based manner that allows maximal
business velocity -- helping accelerate the business. The candidate will
need to develop deep functional understanding of Intuit’s data assets
and information flows across the company; build strong partnerships
across legal, compliance, technical infrastructure, product management,
sales and marketing, and internal audit. The candidate will
establish/maintain effective, appropriate policies/procedures, and
further develop connective tissue across Intuit to optimize data use for
the customer benefit. This candidate will partner with Intuit’s CPO to
implement/maintain/improve privacy program/ privacy by design
principles.
The candidate will also have the following characteristics, skills, and experience with:
- Engaging with data protection authorities and policy makers -- responding to inquiries from global, federal and state regulators and partnering with Corp Affairs team to shape issues important to Intuit and our customers
- Partnering with other experts to develop sustainable, scalable, global approaches to complex data privacy protection and needs
- Advising product teams regarding proposed or potential data use/product features
- Clearly communicating and helping non-experts understand complicated regulatory schemes
- Developing and strengthening global privacy compliance (policy and oversight) and data management standards/capabilities.
- Leading investigations, breach notification, incident management -- and adapt compliance practices to incorporate lessons
- Digital marketing and online behavioral tracking/OBA
- Direct marketing
- Cross border data flow/safe harbor
- Cybersecurity
- Understanding existing & emerging technologies and platforms including: big data analytics; mobile apps, web and devices; social media; and cloud computing and hosting
- Partnering with CISO to ensure parallel evolution/ improvement of security control
- Internally and externally advocating for the free flow of information and the benefits of data driven innovation, as tempered by reasonable, risk-based protection, including partnering with Corp Affairs.
