factories, units and the company’s world headquarters, John Deere’s HR
organization provides opportunities in the area of generalist, as well
as areas of specialization such as international HR, compensation and
benefits, training and development, and industrial relations. In HR, you
are a key enabler to a powerful workforce.
What You'll Do
At John Deere Financial, our Training and Development Specialist
will assess training needs, obtain or develop programs, and deliver
various Precision Farming Technology and Crop Insurance courses. You
will assist with the completion of employee, agent, and adjuster
training plans and work with managers and employees to identify
potential developmental gaps and opportunities. In addition you will:
- Provide agency and staff support for mapping and precision farming inquiries.
- Develop instructional materials and job aids for courses with
primary focus on systems and technologies related to precision farming.
- Deliver training for agents, employees, and/or adjusters
through various delivery methods including classroom, distant learning,
and/or online modules.
- Strive to improve employee and agent relations through various
development programs to welcome new hires and appointments, promote
teamwork, and increase employee and agent retention.
- Implement training requirements related to enterprise projects such as performance management or succession planning.
We
need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and
working in a team environment. Ideally you will have a Bachelor's degree
in a business or agriculture related discipline or equivalant work
experience . In addition we require:
- 3 years experience in Precision Farming technology (including
mapping planted crop area and yield, GIS, GPS, agronomy, variable-rate
application, and guidance products) common in the U.S. marketplace.
- Willingness to travel throughout the continental United States up to 50% of the time.
- Experience developing and delivering training via distant learning methodologies.
- Ability to present to both small and large audiences (including
communicating technical information both orally and in writing in a
manner that facilitates comprehension and understanding by the audience)
A strong candidate will also have:
- Exposure to crop insurance
- Background in farming, operating Ag equipment, and/or an Ag production type of function.
- Experience working with the NCIS, RMA, and USDA organizations.
