The DIRECTV Software Engineering department is seeking a Software QA Test Engineer to lead the testing new and existing features on a full lineup of set-top-boxes.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Lead the testing effort of multiple new features and coordinate the testing with other testers.

·         Attend meetings to fully understand the design and development of new features.

·         Analyze requirements to develop test plans (including traceability matrix, test cases, test approach) for new features.

·         Work with development to ensure the proper process is followed and the proper tools are created to test new features.

·         Execute test cases, analyze problems, and write detailed reports.

·         Communicate status on the overall health of new features.

·         Ability to lead and mentor other testers in the team.

 

Qualifications

  

·         BS degree in a technical field is preferred.

·         4+ years of practical experience in software testing.

·         Technical understanding of UNIX/Linux, bug reporting systems, networking, and a/v equipment.
