A key component of the marketing function at John Deere is the product support team. Members of the team provide technical assistance to John Deere dealers through the Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) hotline. The work is challenging, fast–paced and very fulfilling. Product support professionals work with every area of the company, including engineering, service parts, manufacturing, marketing, the branch organization, dealers and customers. Through exposure to all facets of our business, individuals can identify other areas of the company that may serve as a future career path.
 
As a Customer Service Representative for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group, located in Urbandale, IA, you will provide front-line technical support to John Deere dealers and customers on products offered by John Deere IVS.  In addition, you will:
  • Create and maintain support tools available online.
  • Participate in activities with cross-functional teams in Customer Support, Training, and Engineering.
  • Provide follow-up communication on any unresolved issue within a 24-hour period.
  • Assist in training of Global Support Center staff.

What It Takes

 
We need an excellent communicator, both verbal and written, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related career field.  We also require:
  • In-depth computer knowledge, including 2+ years experience troubleshooting operating systems and file structure, plus prior experience supporting Windows XP.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Customer support experience with customer facing interaction regarding products, parts and services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet/intranet applications.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, as well as weekends and occasional holidays.
A strong candidate will also have:
  • Experience with John Deere precision farming equipment.
  • Knowledge of John Deere dealers and other channels.
  • Understanding of dealer and John Deere parts, systems, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of marketing and channel management.
  • 1+ years experience with Intelligent Vehicle Systems products.
  • Experience or expertise in hex editing of raw data files.
  • Foreign language skills, specifically Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, French, German, and/or Chinese.
