What You'll Do
John Deere's Construction & Forestry Division is seeking an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to
provide safe and efficient assembly processes for new Forestry products
or updates to existing Forestry products. In addition, you will:
- Define Sequence of Events (SOE’s) for new or revised products as required.
- Develop Operator Method Sheets (OMS) for new or revised products as required.
- Establish appropriate labor standards for changes in work content related to new Forestry products or product updates.
- Lead and actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) improving Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery through data driven proactive projects.
- Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in PFMEA's and Control Plans.
- Apply mistake proofing methodology proactively to high risk processes and recurring quality nonconformance issues.
- Analyze, specify, procure, and implement production tooling and fixtures for new and existing processes.
What It Takes
We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems
and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor’s
degree in Engineering / Engineering Technology or equivalent
experience. In addition, we require:
- Minimum of 1 year Manufacturing Engineering Experience in a final assembly environment.
- Knowledge of CI, Safety, Ergonomics, Pro-E & 5S in Manufacturing.
A strong candidate will also have:
- Product knowledge of John Deere Forestry Equipment.
- Proficiency in WPlanner, VisView, FactoryCAD, Pro-E, AutoCAD, and AMES (software programs).
- Experience in vehicle assembly, line design, SAP and John Deere Quality Production System (JD-QPS).

Knowledge of the John Deere Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).
