As an IT professional you have expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Because of your excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle, you have the ability to direct project teams in the gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. Our IT professionals support multiple team members and other project leads in day-to-day activities related to project work. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for developing data access objects used by application developers in their business facing projects. As an active member of the Data Access Object (DAO) team, your main priorities will focus on the development of java classes for data access. In addition, you will be part of the team responsible for platforms and development tools. You will be engage in further with extending our tool sets to further automate and integrate the DAO development process from coding, through testing, to deployment. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned mid-sized projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production. Follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards. Conduct appropriate test reviews on assigned projects as necessary. Present findings and offer solutions to management. NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology No direct responsibility for supervising others. ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must pass the Drug Test. Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3+ PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Conduct appropriate Demonstrated experience developing queries and interpreting data across multiple database technologies (DB2, Oracle, Informix, NoSQL, Teradata, etc) Experience with the following development tools: Eclipse, VisualVM (Memory debugging tools), Subversion, Jenkins, Ivy/Ant, Apache Web Server, Artifactory, Opsware Proficient working knowledge across distributed OS platforms including UNIX, Linux, Windows Ability to work in a fast paced environment independently and as part of a team. Manage and prioritize multiple tasks as assigned. Self-starter and take the initiative to learn new processes. Demonstrated ability to collaboratively solve technical problems across multiple platforms. Good communication skills (verbal and written) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - Ability to communicate issues and recommended solutions in a timely manner. Solid experience in documenting requirements. Knowledge of multiple programming languages, databases, life cycle methodologies.
