What will you do #foraliving?
* Develop high impact strategies that leverage Amex’s unique closed loop and Big Data capabilities
* Mine complex behavioral data to inform product enhancements
- Recommending the most relevant American Express products/services or merchant offers
* Intelligently integrating traditional structured data with unstructured data from web and social media
- Transform the way we market to prospective and current customers through apps, social media, mobile platforms, paid search and SEO
- Provide robust analytics to develop new digital partnerships and enhance ecommerce capabilities
- Optimize credit risk management strategies to profitably grow the business
Qualifications
Here are the skills and experiences we’re looking for. Do these describe you?
- Aptitude to learn the skills necessary for complex data mining, solutions development, real time testing/learning and passion to improve our customers’ experience within digital and offline channels
- Computer programming experience necessary. Exposure to large datasets using Big Data tools and platforms (Hadoop, PIG/HIVE/Mahout) preferred
- Working knowledge of data mining techniques, including regression analysis, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, SVM (support vector machines)
- Familiarity with recommendation systems such as collaborative filtering, k-nearest neighbors, etc. and experience with data visualization a plus
- Creativity to go beyond current tools to deliver the best solution to the problem, ability and comfort with working independently and influencing decisions on projects
- Ability to work in teams of peers and internal partners
- Enrolled in full-time undergraduate program in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research Econometrics or related coursework
Depending on factors such as business unit requirements, the nature of the position, cost and applicable laws, American Express may provide visa sponsorship for certain positions.
