We currently have a career opportunity for a Tax Senior Consultant in the Data/ERP space of our Tax Performance Advisory (TPA) group of our Tax Reporting and Compliance practice. Tax Performance Advisory works with companies to improve end-to-end business processes that drive tax performance. This position is focused on data requirements related to efficient tax processes.

Whether a corporate tax department has tax reporting, risk management, or unique process design needs, or requires assistance with data and technology issues, Ernst & Young's global Tax Reporting and Compliance (TRC) practice can help. As a foundation to the TRC practice, we have tax professionals who work to maximize a company's investment in their tax operating model through process redesign, utilization of tax technology, improved data flows and organizational optimization.

Ernst & Young's National Tax Department (NTD) serves high-profile, national and multinational clients and is led by nationally recognized tax professionals who represent some of the firm's most senior tax talent. We provide a range of domestic and international transactional tax planning services and tax-related advisory services. National Tax includes top tax practitioners--many have held policy-making positions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and on the staffs of Congressional tax-writing committees. The combination of knowledge and experience forms the basis for National Tax's ability to help clients analyze the effects of tax law and regulations and to assist clients in determining and implementing appropriate tax planning.
   
Responsibilities
Major areas in which the TPA group provides assistance include:

ERP Value Engineering for Tax – assist the client in identifying value opportunities that can be realized through improved access to data.

ERP Integration for Tax – assist the client in identifying data requirements to support tax accounting, compliance, and strategy. Work as part of the ERP integration team (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.) to realize the ERP service to deliver required tax data.
  
To qualify, candidates must have:
  • a bachelor's degree and approximately 2 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience
  • an undergraduate emphasis in accounting/tax and related work experience in direct taxes or an ERP specialty; a master's degree and related work experience preferred
  • CPA candidacy or EA certification candidacy, or ERP Proficiency (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.) as an integrator or as an end user with deep understanding of the ERP or strong inclination to systems and data
  • excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • ability to travel at least 50% of the time
