Sr. Finance Manager – Biologics FP&AJob Description:
The Sr. Finance Manager plays a pivotal role providing financial support for Global Biologics Technical Operations (PTB). Biologics Technical Operations manufactures products that represent over 70% of worldwide Pharma revenue.
This position reports to the Head of Finance – PFTB Financial Planning & Analysis and Accounting and supports the financial planning and analysis of 11 manufacturing sites in 9 locations and $2.5B of spending.
This is a high-profile, global role that interfaces with senior management and cross-functional finance teams such as Supply Chain, Quality and Operations.
A successful candidate for this role has a deep curiosity to understand the business and the ability to translate analysis into meaningful business insights in order to recommend and influence both business partners and finance colleagues.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Support forecast, budget and long range planning process for $500M Global Biologics Technical Operations Period Expenses, coordinating with finance teams across US, Singapore and Europe. Produce executive updates, analyses, variance explanations, and alert management on risks and opportunities.
- Develop financial models and partner with global finance teams to lead decision-support analyses (NPV, ROI, P&L Impact) of strategic manufacturing projects.
- Evaluate and provide financial input for major business cases and capital expenditure projects.
- Collaborate with financial systems team to improve financial models and forecasting processes.
- Lead forecasting and reporting processes for local Genentech Cost of Production, Cost of Goods Sold and Period Expense.
Who You Are
Job Requirements:- 7 years of experience in finance or consulting. MBA or equivalent. CPA a plus.
- Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and/or manufacturing is preferred.
- Advanced technical financial knowledge with analytical expertise and problem solving skills.
- Strong experience with financial modeling and the ability to translate financial modeling insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Ability to collaborate across geographies and work in a fast paced, cross-functional and cross-cultural environment.
- Strong process management skills, particularly in large organizations.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Must have ability to address ambiguity and a passion for simplification.
