Description
The Global Field Enablement (FE) team is an internal division whose role is to build the core and strategic capabilities of the GCP Sales and Account Development organizations by creating innovative and value-added change management, communication, learning, and development solutions.
This includes programs to support new hires, the launch of new products, services and tools, and soft skill and leader development. The team is seeking a Manager of Soft Skill and Leader Development who is responsible for driving a global and consistent approach to learning and continuous improvement in the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of our skill development programs.
The Manager should be a tenured Learning and Development professional with breadth and depth of expertise in the field, strong project management skills and overall training strategy and measurement experience. The Manager of Soft Skill and Leader Development reports to the Director of Global Field Enablement for Global Corporate Payments.
- Use L&D knowledge and experience to assess field learning and development needs, then recommend, procure/develop, manage and share high quality, best-fit soft skill and leadership learning programs/content to meet the needs.
- Benchmark programs internally and externally to ensure best-in-class solutions.
- Manage global 3rd party L&D supplier partners to deliver high quality learning interventions that result in increased knowledge and improved performance; onboard suppliers as needed, contract, manage class processes from front-end booking through successful delivery and evaluation.
- Liaise with Amex Global Supply Management, Finance and Accounting to comply with Amex Procure to Pay supply chain management processes/policies in contracting with, purchasing from, invoicing and managing 3rd party supplier partners.
- Manage global budget related to 3rd party suppliers to ensure BAU and SQP budgets are used on time, on budget and in scope.
- Manage global projects such as global assessment initiatives to drive completion and deliver results, partnering with global colleagues without direct authority.
- Liaise and partner with regional FE consultants/leaders, GCP leaders and other Amex teams (HR, GSM, etc.) to successfully deploy soft skill and leader development initiatives.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have:
-L&D field expertise (depth and breadth) required to provide best-fit solutions to meet desired outcomes including: knowledge of Instructional Design principles to ensure quality learning interventions - understanding of Kirkpatrick’s levels of evaluation to use data to demonstrate the impact of L&D interventions - knowledge of Amex HR and enterprise programs/content - knowledge of external 3rd party L&D suppliers, programs and content -experience in behaviors and skills mapping, linking needs to client lifecycles, appropriate learning programs, etc.
- Experience in managing L&D 3rd party supplier partners on a global scale and knowledge of L&D vendor management best-practices (for example, knowledge of IP policies, establishing processes for Facilitator Briefing and Education, Leader Alignment, audience preparation and follow-up, etc.)
- Knowledge of Amex Procure to Pay supply chain management processes, policies, procedures, teams (GSM, Finance, Accounting) and experience in contracting, purchasing, spending, budgeting, etc. per policy; budget management experience
- Global Project Management experience required to plan, coordinate, deploy and evaluate learning initiatives to a globally dispersed audience; ability to deliver results, strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
- Experience in managing global assessments while considering legalities (i.e. knowledge or awareness of market Workers Council policies, HR and Legal parameters, etc.) to ensure assessment completion within policy and compliance guidelines that results in improved performance.
- Strong relationship, collaboration and influencing skills required to partner with regional FE consultants/leaders, GCP leaders and other Amex teams (HR, GSM, etc.) to successfully deploy learning interventions without direct authority; ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization including senior leaders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
