Job Summary

Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain comprehensive, cross-functional sensor system models Spearhead proof of concept investigations to assess sensing technology feasibility and suitability. Develop and negotiate cross-functional requirements to ensure module performance. Define architecture, perform block-level simulation and author sensor module specs. Work closely with firmware team to develop advanced algorithms to ensure module performance. Work closely with mechanical engineering team in optimizing material and mechanical design trade-offs. Work closely with test team to develop measurement methods and equipment that are repeatable, reproducible, and automated as appropriate to enable thorough validation coverage on tight development schedules. Author regular technical communication for executive and cross-functional briefings. Perform design analysis, characterization, and validation. Analyze engineering and production data sets in order to reconcile system models. Diagnose engineering issues with true scientific method, driving to definitive root cause, in close collaboration with cross-functional team members.  Business travel to support product development.

Key Qualifications

  • Multi-disciplinary understanding of EE, ME, and Physics principles.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design principles, FEA, and advanced materials.
  • Demonstrated experience in modeling complex cross-disciplinary systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SPICE, or similar simulation and modeling tools.
  • Experience with sensor technologies is a plus.

Education

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of industry experience.
