Senior SDE Developer Division TestX Crew

DevDiv Engineering Systems (DES) is driving changes that will enable the Visual Studio team to iterate quickly, work efficiently, and deliver innovation better than ever before. We manage the engineering system that allows hundreds of people to work together efficiently and productively to create one of Microsoft’s most important products: Visual Studio, including TFS and .NET. Our customers sit in our building and are people like you, writing and testing code. Our team is responsible for designing, creating, implementing, and managing the tools & services to arm Developer Division’s engineers to do their best work. We’re looking for a developer to join our team, the DES TestX Crew (Test Execution Crew). We own the Maddog testing platform service, which a thousand internal customers in Redmond and across the globe use daily to manage, execute and analyze their testcases. We’re currently working to solidify our service, improve reliability and simplify tasks that our customers are doing today, enabling them to better support themselves. Next up we will leverage our experience running this service for the breadth of our internal customers and extend the shipping product to meet the needs of the division. The features Maddog provides are essential to allowing the division to quickly test developer tools on every platform those tools support. This position requires both strong technical and customer relationship skills. Your customers are highly technical engineers testing everything from the CLR to the compilers to the IDE (and everything in between). Developers on our team need to be able to learn quickly and apply skills to a broad range of projects. Basic Qualifications 5 or more years of experience developing production software using C or C++ or C# and/or VB.Net, and strong object-oriented design skills. BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, or Electrical Engineering Preferred Qualifications 1+ years experience with SQL and Web Services experience are a plus.
