GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.

The Thermal Systems Design (TSD) organization will provide the opportunity to work with a variety of engineering organizations in the development of aircraft engines. TSD applies detailed physics to model engine components and systems. In this role you, will lead the design and analysis of aircraft engine thermal-fluid systems. This includes the development and validation of analytical models for fluid flow and heat transfer for the purpose of supporting the design of aircraft engines.
In this role you will lead the design and analysis of thermal-fluid systems related to aircraft engine components and systems. You will provide oversight to the work of other engineers and have direct ownership of thermal systems projects, including managing timelines, setting schedules and ensuring adherence to budget. You will mentor others in the organization on the concepts of thermal and fluid sciences.Specific areas of focus include:
  • rotor / stator heat transfer
  • fluid system design
  • rotor thrustSpecific responsibilities are:
  • Perform 1-D flow network calculations
  • Develop and maintain Finite Element Analysis thermal models
  • Represent TSD on cross-functional design teams for aircraft engine components and systems
  • Manage budgets and schedules for TSD programs
  • Work with a variety of engineering organizations and lead development of the engine thermal systems and designs
  • Lead the application of detailed physics to the analysis of engine components
  • Plan and execute component and engine test programs and utilize the results to validate engine designs, systems and analytical models
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

Lynn is the home of the first U.S. jet engine thanks in part to relationships with material science researchers at nearby MIT. This continued relationship allows us to focus on product improvement. GE Aviation still a major employer in Lynn, assembling small commercial, military and marine engines in this Boston suburb. As a result, over 4,200 GE employees now call this historic area "home." Take the MBTA commuter rail into the nearby city of Boston. Several parks including the largest municipal park in New England, as well as the Lynn Beach offer resident relaxation. Learn more about our New England community!
