Description

 
 
As a Senior Account Executive, you will be responsible for the sales of SAS software products, solutions and services in a high-volume, multi-tasking environment to current and prospective accounts within the Energy Industry. This position has a primary focus on Upstream Oil and Gas and includes positioning data management and advanced analytics for the Oilfield Life Cycle domain (e.g. Exploration, Drilling, and Production). Secondary focus areas include Midstream and Downstream domains involving Risk and Trade and Facility Integrity and Reliability. Your responsibilities will also include working with others to position and leverage sales opportunities to acquire, grow and retain customers within the assigned territory; fulfilling a wide range of requests for information from prospective and current customers; qualifying level of opportunity and type of account; prospecting within a territory or account to uncover business needs; advanced territory and account management and development; identifying accounts with high "close" potential, qualifying and forecasting timeframes to close business; working closely with Executives to develop relationships and become a valued business partner; preparing standard quotations, proposals, and business cases as needed; working with other departments to create and finalize contracts and set time schedules for services and education; following up with customers to track satisfaction levels and to discover additional revenue opportunities; developing an understanding of company pricing and licensing procedures; and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 
 
Essential
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or quantitative field with:
  • 8 years quota carrying experience selling software and services
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales processes
  • Ability to travel as business needs require.
  • Work Location: Houston, Texas
Additional
  • Previous sales methodology training and territory management (planning, managing, forecasting)
  • Demonstrates consultative and strategic selling techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of industry software and hardware terminology and concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at different levels within an organization.
  • Ability to initiate and lead projects
  • Capable of relating technical and business concepts to SAS applications and user needs
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
Preferences
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding annual quota
  • Familiar with SAS solutions and services
  • Upstream domain sales experience involving geosciences, engineering and data management
