Job Summary
As a member of the Marcom Interactive team, the Production Designer creates, executes and produces digital files for apple.com,
email communications, Smart Signs, and other deliverables under the
direction of his or her manager and the Creative Directors, Art
Directors, and Designers on the Interactive Design Team.
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, proportion, rhythm, emphasis and unity
- Excellent skills with design software, including, but not limited to, Photoshop
- Solid understanding of the technical side of web development, including working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, iOS and other technologies
- Demonstrated reliable judgment as to when work may be “off track” and when to ask senior creative staff for advice
- Ability to accept feedback
- Ability to articulate ideas in a manner that is clearly understood by senior creative and project management staff
- Excellent organization skills to file work in a manner that is accessed and modified by others
- Professional desire to deliver quality design at high volume in a tight timeframe
Description
Works as a member of a team, executing assigned tasks for web pages, emails, and Smart Signs
Accountable for the implementation and production of designs and design elements as instructed by the Creative Design staff
Flows copy into pre-existing and designed PSDs, adjusting balance of imagery to copy as necessary
Designs promo tiles
Creates adaptations of original designs for different aspect ratios, scales, and environments
Creates original designs based on existing templates, adhering to design principles in established templates
Has ability to create original designs based on wireframes/sketches as needed
Executes design work and production assets that meet defined quality standards in a timely manner
Education
BA or BFA in Graphic Design, with a minimum of 4 years work experience in a design-related field
Additional Requirements
Working
knowledge of the creative requirements of some marketing communications
media including advertising, direct marketing, interactive, eCommerce,
collateral, etc.
Working knowledge of key concepts in web and interactive design and a
minimum of one of the above additional areas
Developing knowledge of the requirements of the creative development
process including typical time, costs and resources needed to produce
efficient, high quality work on time and specification
