Job Summary

Battery Systems is looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician who will be responsible for executing engineering test programs as related to the development of batteries for Apple products. The ideal candidate will have solid electrical background, experience with testing rechargeable batteries and collecting and analyzing large amounts of data. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Impeccable organization and documentation skills. Competent in using productivity tools like Pages, Numbers, Keynote, MS Excel, Word and Project. Ability to work in close cooperation with a cross-functional teams of professionals.

Key Qualifications

  • Required technical skills:
  • Educational background in Electrical engineering.
  • Experience with basic electronics and electrical circuits.
  • Solid PCB soldering and wire harness assembly skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills of electrical circuits down to component level.
  • Ability to execute complex, detailed test procedures with just enough input from engineering.
  • Familiarity with proper laboratory safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Experience using Mac OS X and Windows OS and SW productivity tools.
  • Desirable technical skills:
  • Experience programming and operating battery test equipment (example: Maccor or Arbin) and custom data acquisition equipment.
  • Experience in recording detailed and accurate test descriptions and data summaries.
  • Experience with collecting large amounts of data, data storage and data manipulation.
  • Able to effectively contribute to a dynamic and often fast-paced, high-pressure work environment.
  • Experience working with batteries.

Description

Test batteries and electrical component parts with a variety of analytical lab equipment (examples: Oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters, electrical loads, etc). Execute detailed test procedures and accurately record/prepare test results and data analysis. Configure and run complex test setups using high accuracy test equipment. Assemble mechanical and electrical test fixtures and setups to facilitate product testing. Maintain and troubleshoot electrical test equipment. Work closely with engineers to support battery development work. Report status on a regular basis. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

Educational background in Electrical Engineering required (AS/BS preferred).
