Job Summary

Design, develop and test battery monitoring units and Battery management units (BMU) for consumer electronic products. Design electronic circuits, select electronic parts and integrated circuits for to meet the cost and performance targets. Work with suppliers to develop custom parts where needed. Design test methodologies to verify the battery management unit design.

Key Qualifications

  • Required technical skills:
  • • Experience in design and validation of low power, low noise analog and mixed signal electronics.
  • • Experience with microprocessors and embedded mixed-signal systems.
  • • Experience with schematic capture and layout tools.
  • • Effective in performing detailed circuit and layout design reviews.
  • • Hands on experience in troubleshooting complex mixed signal circuits at component level.
  • • Proficiency with off-the-shelf and custom electronics equipment like storage oscilloscopes, high
  • accuracy multimeters, programable power supplies, electronic loads, logic and spectrum
  • analyzers, data acquisition systems and digitizers.
  • Desirable technical skills:
  • • Development and validation of high accuracy test equipment.
  • • Programing of control scripts for bench-top test equipment like multimeters, power supplies and
  • electronic loads.
  • • Experience with low-pin-count communication buses such as I2C, SMBus, or single wire HDQ.
  • • Experience with data acquisition systems.
  • • Example systems are manufactured by NI, HBM and Agilent.
  • • Experience in FMEA and fault tree analysis.
  • • Embedded systems programming experience in C.
  • • Knowledge and experience with 6 sigma design practices.
  • • Knowledge in statistical analysis.

Description

Responsibilities: In this position, you will use your electrical engineering skills in reviewing the design and executing detailed validation plans for validating electronics subsystems. The ideal candidate is an excellent analog and mixed signal circuit designer with electronics validation experience, with good understanding of low power analog electronics and background in working with low power microcontrollers. Priority will be applied to reviewing designs, developing the plans and working with others to execute the tasks. Main tasks may include: • Review analog and mixed signal electronics, design requirements, schematics, layout. • Develop detailed design validation plans. • Design high accuracy electronics equipment and configure complex test setups. • Uncover design related issues and communicate them clearly to the team. • Work closely with other engineers and technicians. • Design and execute test protocols. • Collect, review and analyze test data. • Work comfortably with low power mixed signal microcontroller based hardware. • Work in close cooperation with a cross-functional team of professionals. • Present electronics verification data and analysis.

Education

Requirements: • BSEE/MS preferred and 5+ years of related experience.

Additional Requirements

• Design, test and troubleshooting of mixed signal systems at component level. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly present data to crossfunctional teams and to non-experts. • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. • Ability to analyze and criticize existing and new designs and propose suitable solutions for issues. • Relies on data to justify technical decisions. • Ability to clearly explain complex technical issues and justify technical decisions. • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and entrepreneurial spirit. • Competent in using a variety of productivity tools. • Ability to work in close cooperation with a cross-functional teams of professionals.
