Chief of Staff - Trustworthy Computing

The TwC Security team is looking for Chief of Staff to help drive strategy, project management, and operations for its 200 person team. TwC Security drives development and implementation of security tools & practices across Microsoft, is responsible for engineering response to security issues/incidents, and handles government security policy outreach for the company including the Government Security Program. In addition, TwC Security handles network security (NetSec), which tracks and analyzes security incidents & policy violations on Microsoft’s internal network. The team has a huge impact on the security of Microsoft’s customer base and does cutting edge work on the highest profile products & cyber incidents worldwide.

The position reports directly the GM of Product Security. In this role you will assist the organization’s leadership team deliver the organizational priorities required to achieve the TwC Security vision. As Chief of Staff, you will also coordinate and drive high-priority technical challenges that span the group, as directed by the GM. This person will be a trusted advisor to the leadership team, and in turn lead a business management team that is ultimately responsible for:
• Ensuring decisions are made with clarity and communicated effectively across the organization.
• Identifying areas of business performance that can be improved, and providing insightful recommendations.
• Partnering with the leadership team in running the rhythm of the business (ROB) through the development of the FY planning calendar and events, including driving the agenda and management of the monthly leadership meetings
• Leading the process for development of the long term strategy as well as fiscal-year goals, set direction and drive resource alignment.
• Partnering with TwC Chief of Staff, HR, & Finance to ensure effective budget management and forecasting, and work with team leaders to ensure support and advocacy for their teams.
• Leading the budgeting process and working with finance teams to align resources by strategic initiatives.
• Working across the team to develop scorecards/dashboards used for measuring the success of the business.

We are seeking a self-starting individual with exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Candidate may have been both a Business Mgr and PM in the past. Essential attributes and competencies include:
• Track record of understanding and supporting technical, business and professional requirements
• High level of motivation; self-starter; drive for results
• Ability to work effectively with and in leading cross-group initiatives
• Ability to work with executives to accomplish organizational priorities and guide GM and leadership team through the impact of decision alternatives
• Ability to be proxy for GM
• Ability to quickly and efficiently sort through data to identify key issues or variables to consider in making critically important strategic decisions
• Proven experience providing leadership through others & making others great through mentoring & coaching
• Outstanding cross-group and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail
• Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and across multiple and varied functional teams from working to executive level
• Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience communicating at the executive level

• 3+ years technical PM experience within Microsoft
• 2+ years of experience in strategy planning or similar experience
• management experience

Computer Science or related degree preferred

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
