We currently have an opening for a WCS Production Control Planner IV at our Houston, TX location.
Responsibilities
The job responsibilities will include but not limit to:
• Report to PC manager and be responsible for planning and controlling manufacturing and assembly activities to maintain on-time delivery, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and equipment utilization.
• Setup production schedule for all components and sub-assembly material from welding, machining, to assembly stage.
• Release work orders based on the MRP requirement, project priorities, and the management requirements.
• Setup the work order priority based on project priorities and management requirement.
• Work with manufacturing and assembly team to maintain and improve on-time delivery, equipment utilization, and labor efficiency.
• Be responsible for material and documentation readiness for all released work orders throughout set-out process by working and collaborating with Set Out team, internal QA team, and Third Party Inspection.
• Be responsible for the expedition of hot/special work orders at manufacturing and assembly.
• Be responsible for WIP inventory accuracy, material availability, and tech document readiness for all work orders.
• Create TO or issue material to assembly when needed.6. Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality control, supply chain, and warehouse to implement ECN/Q N process, to facilitate tech document and material availability, to create path forward, and to meet the delivery target for all work orders.
• Schedule and control vendor on-site service to meet the WCS build plan, to support on-time delivery, and to reduce and prevent vendor unproductive standby time.
• Report manufacturing and assembly production status with timely, accurate, and detail information at share point files. Escalate production issue and bring in solutions to management team. Bridge the communication between shop floor team and project management and planning team.
• Update production control related SAP data timely.
• Develop short term and mid-term manufacturing work order release strategy to improve on-time delivery, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization. Take the initiative to improve manufacturing and material management process.

Main Tasks
• Be responsible for production (manufacturing/assembly) planning and controlling activities to maintain on-time delivery, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, equipment utilization, and process improvement through interfacing with engineering, quality controlling, supply chain, project management and planning, shop-floor management teams, customers, vendors, and all cross-functional teams.
Requirements
• Four-year college degree of BA or BS in business administration, procurement, operations, or industry engineering or relevant work experience. MBA degree will be highly preferred. APICS certification or specialty training in materials / production control area strongly desired.
• At least 6-year experience in material/inventory control and analysis. More experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling is a plus. Be able to drive forklift is a plus.
• Must be proficient at Microsoft Office Package, especially Excel. Must be able to demonstrate strong numerical analysis and data management skills. Must be able to communicate with English in verbal and writing.
• Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings, manufacturing routings, and work order related documents.
• Must understand BOM structures and supply/demand information related to work order items.
• Must understand system shortage reports and accurately ascertain critical path issues preventing production from being started.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and strong interpersonal/negotiation skills in order to interacting with warehouse, quality, third party, engineering, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to support production.
• Be able to handle multiple tasks down to detail level in a high stress environment. Be able to work flexible hours whenever business needs.
• Possess the strong team player characters to take more responsibilities and to move extra step for the sake of business.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Shop floor and office combined environment. Occasionally need to work out door. Sometime exposed to high noise level. May work with forklift, heavy machine parts, equipment, and chemicals. May be subject to inclement weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking between shop and office daily. Required to be able to lift/push material continually. Bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, crawling in confined workspace may possible.
